In many respects the whole book of 1 John is one big test, answering the question: How can we have assurance that we are truly His children and He is truly our treasure? John continues to unpack these themes in chapters 3 and 4, giving us the test of whether or not we are children of Him by the way we understand His love for us, and in turn our love for others. Today we’re going to look at how we gain assurance for our hearts and confidence before Him through the Gospel and genuine brotherly love.
