We continue our study of the most influential, life-changing, worldview-shaping letter ever written—Romans. It is a timeless, divinely-inspired masterpiece on the joy-filled-life-as-it-should-be freedom found in Jesus. So far, we’ve covered 1:1-15. Today, we turn to 1:16-17. These verses capture the big idea, or thesis, which Paul carefully explains over the first eleven chapters of his letter. His concern? That we grasp the nature of the gospel as a power through which we are counted righteous before God through faith in Jesus.
