Growing with Us this Fall

DCC,

As God’s people, we are called Christ’s body (1 Cor 12:12), a temple (1 Pet 2:5), citizens (Eph 2:19), and a family (Heb 3:6). All of these are relational realities, which involve being connected, interdependent, and growing together. Ephesians 4:15-16 gives us this picture of a body with many members working together for the health and growth of the body: Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. 

Did you catch that? Every member of the body is a gift from God, given for the purpose of building up the body! Just like the different parts of our physical body, no two of us are exactly the same, yet we are all needed for the health and growth of the body. That is why it has been our prayer from the beginning that all who consider DCC their home church would be relationally connected, intentionally growing, meaningfully serving and giving, missionally engaged, willingly accountable, and known by a pastor.

As we head into the fall and re-establish regular rhythms of life, let’s do so with the beautiful calling to be part of the DCC family in mind. There are many ways to take steps further into the life of our body this fall, many of which start this week:

FOUNDATIONS | Sundays, 8:30 am

If you’ve not yet taken the Foundations class, now is a great time to do so! We have this 5-week class as the relational on-ramp into the life of the church so that you can learn what we believe, how we belong, who we are, why we’re here, and how we operate, and find your place in our body! This class is the first step towards joining a community, getting baptized, and becoming a member. Register here and join us this Sunday.

EXPLORING CHRISTIANITY | Sundays, 12 pm

If you’re new to Christianity and interested in exploring Jesus’ claims, or wanting to grow in how to articulate the Christian faith to others, join our Exploring Christianity class after the gathering. Lunch is provided, so please Register here.

MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY | Wednesdays, 7 – 8 pm

We meet at DCC’s building in Belltown each week for an inductive study of Scripture, led by one of the elders of DCC. Jump in any time, no need to register. Read more here.

FAMILY RHYTHMS

For those who have already taken the Foundations class and have been participating with us for a while, we invite you to further embed in the life of our church through:

ALREADY, AND MORE TO COME!

Every week, we gather to worship God together as an essential means of grace to us. Come early and stay late. Perhaps make a goal to meet one new person each week, or to catch-up and pray with someone you didn’t see that week.

In the coming months, we’ll have additional opportunities to gather together in men’s and women’s discipleship events, as well as service, mission, and mercy events, so stay tuned for more!
