Blessed Are Those Who Mourn

Media, Sermon on the Mount, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Sermon on the Mount

This week in Matthew 5:4, we continue our sermon series through Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. These important words of Jesus reveal the counter-cultural nature and character of the kingdom of God. They are meant to help us live as citizens of God’s kingdom now, under his gracious rule, even while we yet remain in the kingdom of the world. Through it, Jesus reveals the way to true life, joy, and blessing.

Blessed are the Poor in Spirit

Media, Sermon on the Mount, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Sermon on the Mount

This morning we are beginning a new sermon series through one of the most famous portions of the New Testament, perhaps even the Bible, Matthew 5-7. It records one of Jesus’ sermons that took place on the northeast shore of the Sea of Galilee that has come to be known as the Sermon on the Mount.

The Big Story

Media, Ruth, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Ruth

Today, we wrap up our study of the small, but explosive book of Ruth by talking about the greater story that exists in this book. The coming of our Savior should give us strength from drawing upon his sovereign power, hope during suffering, peace as we revel in the amazing grace that is ours, desire to join His purposes in the world, and knowledge that the best is yet to come.

The Rescue

Media, Ruth, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Ruth

Today, we are nearing the end of our study of the Book of Ruth. We see how God is ever-present, guides our lives for our good, and is with us even when life leads in the direction we least expect. In Ruth 4, Boaz redeems the land of Elimelech, marries the widowed Ruth showing us a small picture of God’s redemptive love, and sets into motion the series of events that leads to the birth of our Savior.

The Threshing Floor

Media, Ruth, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Ruth

Today, as we continue through Ruth 3, we encounter a deeply human story that reveals the invisible hand of God at work in the every day, ordinary lives of His people (people a lot like you and I) – even when life takes us in directions we least expect.

When Darkness Falls

Media, Ruth, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Ruth

This morning we are beginning a new series through the small, but explosive, book of Ruth. This four chapter story has instructed, convicted, and encouraged God’s people for 3,000 years. One commentator refers to it as an, “ancient literary masterpiece”. Yet, perhaps what is most extraordinary about this story is its ordinariness. It is a deeply human story that reveals the invisible hand of God is at work in the every day, ordinary lives of His people – even when they turn dark. Today, in Ruth 1, we will see one such example.

Planted in God

Media, Psalms: Songs for Life, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Psalms: Songs for Life

This morning we are beginning a brand new 10-week study through the Psalms – one of the most beloved books of the Bible. For millennia, the Psalms have served as the songbook for God’s people. The Psalms teach us to pray, to sing, and jolt us out of our complacency to revel in the majesty of God. They speak to us as whole people as they inform our minds, stir our affections, direct our steps, and capture our imaginations. They are perpetually popular because they are perpetually relevant, speaking to every area of life. In this way, they are songs for life; songs that give us words for how to go to God with life and all that it throws at us. This morning, we begin in Psalm 1.

Boasting in the Cross

Galatians, Media, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Galatians

This morning our study through the book of Galatians comes to a climactic and personal close. Today, in Galatians 6:11-18, Paul summarizes the primary themes of his letter and challenges us to consider what it is that we “boast” in.
