The Danger of Misplaced Trust

Media, Romans, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Romans

We finally return to our study of the most influential, life-changing, worldview-shaping letter ever written—Romans. It is a timeless, divinely-inspired masterpiece on the joy-filled-life-as-it-should-be freedom found in Jesus. We are currently working through a crucial section (1:18-3:20) in which Paul reveals God’s just wrath on human unrighteousness in order to demonstrate the need of every human for a Savior. In our passage today, 2:17-29, Paul highlights the acute danger of misplaced trust in external behavior, versus a living faith in Jesus.

Walking with God When You’re Afraid

Media, Psalms: Walking With God, Sermons | by John M.

Psalms: Walking With God

This morning we begin a series of sermons on the Psalms that will run in parallel to our series on Romans. Its purpose is to help us learn from the psalmists what it means to faithfully walk with God through the ups-and-downs of life in a world marred by sin. Today, in Psalm 56, we examine how to walk with God when we’re afraid.

God’s Glory as Fuel for God’s Mission

, Media, New Year Essentials 2020, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2020

This sermon concludes a set of annual sermons we refer to as our New Year Essentials. These sermons address subjects and important themes that we must repeatedly return to for the glory of God and the transformation of our inner and outer lives. These are not, of course, the same sermons. Rather, they are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, in Isaiah 40:12-26, we consider God’s glory as the fuel for God’s mission.

A Life Anchored in God

Media, Sermons, The Living Word 2019 | by Pastor David Parker

The Living Word 2019

Today is the fifth and final sermon in a series we are calling The Living Word, based on Hebrews 4:12, in which God’s Word is described as ”living and active.” His Word is alive and changes lives. To demonstrate this, we asked five pastors, and leaders, to share a passage the Lord has been using in their lives to convict, comfort and/or challenge them. Today, Pastor David dives into Psalm 112 and unpacks what it means to have a life that is satisfied and anchored in all that God is for us in Jesus Christ.

Let Me Meditate In My Heart

Media, Sermons, The Living Word 2019 | by Pastor Marco Ribeiro

The Living Word 2019

Today is the fourth of five sermons in a series we are calling The Living Word, based on Hebrews 4:12, in which God’s Word is described as ”living and active.” His Word is alive and changes lives. To demonstrate this, we asked five pastors, and leaders, to share a passage the Lord has been using in their lives to convict, comfort and/or challenge them. Today, Pastor Marco considers Psalm 77 and how meditating on God’s word transforms our feelings and emotions. We will follow Asaph as he recalls what God has said and done, ponders it, savors it, and is completely transformed by it.
