Media, Psalms: Walking With God, Sermons | by Pastor Craig Sturm

Psalms: Walking With God

We continue in our series of sermons on the Psalms that will run in parallel to our series on Romans. Its purpose is to help us learn from the psalmists what it means to faithfully walk with God through the ups-and-downs of life in a world marred by sin. Today, in Psalm 4, we walk alongside David to learn how to walk with God in joy and peace in the midst of adversity.

Questioning Justification by Faith

Media, Romans, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Romans
We continue our study of the most influential, life-changing, worldview-shaping letter ever written—Romans. It is a timeless, divinely-inspired masterpiece on the joy-filled-life-as-it-should-be freedom found in Jesus. Today, in 3:27-31, Paul pauses to defend “justification by faith” by addressing common objections. He explains that justification by faith: transforms how we understand salvation, clarifies who salvation is for, and empowers us to live for God. But, first, we need to explore the nature of faith.

It is a timeless, divinely-inspired masterpiece on the joy-filled-life-as-it-should-be freedom found in Jesus. Today, in 3:21-26, the terrain shifts dramatically as Paul answers the question: In light of our sinful condition (see 1:18-3:20), how can we be made right with God? Is it even possible? In response, he begins to unravel the wonder and glory of justification by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone.

God’s Glory as Fuel for God’s Mission

, Media, New Year Essentials 2020, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2020

This sermon concludes a set of annual sermons we refer to as our New Year Essentials. These sermons address subjects and important themes that we must repeatedly return to for the glory of God and the transformation of our inner and outer lives. These are not, of course, the same sermons. Rather, they are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, in Isaiah 40:12-26, we consider God’s glory as the fuel for God’s mission.
