Working For The Lord

Media, New Year Essentials 2024, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2024

We are returning to an annual sermon series we refer to as our New Year Essentials. These sermons address subjects to which we must repeatedly return for the glory of God and the transformation of our lives. These are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, we consider how our work relates to God and his purposes in the world. What we’ll see is that all our work matters to God, and God matters to all our work.

Disciple One Another

Media, One Another'ing, Sermons | by Pastor David Parker

One Another'ing

We continue our One Another’ing sermon series, which looks at the countercultural character of Jesus’ church, through the 50+ “one another” commandments. We are empowered by the gospel to love one another, to serve, to encourage, to forgive, to disciple, to pray, to show hospitality to one another, and much more. Today, we’ll be unpacking what it means to be a disciple of Jesus that helps make other disciples, until Jesus returns or takes us home.

Why We Exist

First Things, Media, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

First Things
What are the first things in the life of Jesus’ church? Even if you don’t follow Jesus, you’ve likely wondered, “What is all of this about?” You’re not alone. It can be confusing. So, in this five-week series, we’re considering foundational biblical principles for a healthy, Jesus-treasuring, people-loving, Spirit-empowered, life-transforming local church. This study is built on the backbone of DCC’s mission statement and ten core convictions. Who are we? Why do we exist? What are we doing? That’s what this series is all about-for God’s glory, and our deepest joy.

Jesus and Our Jobs

Media, Other Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Other Sermons
How does Jesus impact how we think about our jobs? What difference should it make if an employee is a follower of Jesus? Or, more personally, would anyone in your office be surprised if they discovered you were a Christian? That’s an important question. Most of us will spend well over 80,000 hours “working” in our lifetime; that breaks down to two-thirds of our waking hours during the work week. Do those hours matter to Jesus? Yes. They matter more than we realize.

Let The Word Dwell Richly In Love

Media, Other Sermons | by Pastor Randy Lundy

Other Sermons
Jesus is on a mission. That mission is to form a new and renewed people through his word for his eternal glory. He is bringing these people together into gospel-centered communities who gather regularly to teach, admonish, and sing. As we explore the corporate means of grace that Paul outlines in Colossians 3:16-17, we will see that much more is at stake when we gather as God's people than we might have thought. In fact, it is just as the Word of Christ dwells richly in us gathered, that we can then be scattered into the world as ambassadors of grace and the gospel.

Work as unto the Lord

Media, Other Sermons | by Pastor David Parker

For most of us, we spend a lot of our time and lives “working”, and whatever we spend the most time doing, we are apt to make it the most important thing in our life. Consequently, we’ll also spend the most time doing what we value as most important. Scripture has much to say about our work, so lets examine Col 3:23 and look at what work is, and how God wants to use our work for His glory, our growth, and ultimately our Joy.
