A Jesus-Treasuring People on Mission

Media, Romans, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Romans
We continue our study of the most influential, life-changing, worldview-shaping letter ever written: Romans. It is a timeless, divinely-inspired masterpiece on the joy-filled-life-as-it-should-be freedom found in Jesus alone. For eleven chapters, Paul unfolds the heights and depths of the gospel of Jesus. Today, in Romans 16:1-23, Paul closes with a lengthy personal greeting paired with a final warning and a powerful promise. Here he is getting us to consider the nature of Jesus’ local church and our role in His ongoing unfolding purposes.

Is the Sabbath for Christians?

Media, Romans, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

Romans

We continue our study of the most influential, life-changing, worldview-shaping letter ever written: Romans. It is a timeless, divinely-inspired masterpiece on the joy-filled-life-as-it-should-be freedom found in Jesus alone. Today we’re taking a step backward into Romans 14:4-9 and considering the nature of the Sabbath day. This may not seem like the most pressing of issues, but it’s far more significant than we might think. So, is the Sabbath for Jesus’ people today?

Finally, Brothers and Sisters

Media, One Another'ing, Sermons | by Kyle Dunn

One Another'ing

Today, we conclude our One Another’ing sermon series, which looks at the countercultural character of Jesus’ church, through the 50+ “one another” commandments. We are empowered by the gospel to love one another, to serve, to encourage, to forgive, to disciple, to pray, to show hospitality to one another, and much more. Today, we’ll look at Paul’s commands to rejoice and live in light of Jesus’ resurrection, as his new-creation people.

Our Ambition to Spread the Gospel Where Jesus is Not Named

, Media, New Year Essentials 2022, Romans, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2022

We conclude a set of annual sermons we refer to as our new year essentials. These sermons address subjects and important themes that we must repeatedly return to for the glory of God and the transformation of our inner and outer lives. These are not, of course, the same sermons. Rather, they are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, we get insight into the Apostle Paul’s missionary strategy and encouragement to spread the gospel where Jesus is not yet named.

Does Christianity Diminish Women?

, Media, New Year Essentials 2022, Romans, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2022
Today we are continuing a set of annual sermons we refer to as our new year essentials. These sermons address subjects to which we must repeatedly return for the glory of God and the transformation of lives. These are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, we consider the question, “Does Christianity diminish women?” Is Christianity ‘anti-woman’ used to ‘control women’ with little concern for their well-being?

These are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, we consider the question, “Is Christianity against diversity?” Is Christianity, as is increasingly claimed, merely a white, western, patriarchal religion, used to oppress?

A Message for God’s Messengers

Media, Other Sermons | by Tim Shao

Other Sermons
The Old Testament lays the foundations of God’s story of redemption. As God’s New Testament people today, the Old Testament is our family history. Today, we will look at the prophet Jeremiah, who was one of God’s messengers in the Old Testament. We will study how God called Jeremiah, and consider how we have more in common with him than we might think.
