We begin a new series called Sightings of Jesus where we look at the seven signs in the Gospel of John. Each of the signs communicates different facets of Jesus’ glory (John 2:11), and John shares them with us that we may believe and have life in his name (John 20:30-31). We’ll introduce the series, think about what signs are and what they do, and consider the author of these signs–what he did, and why.

Merry Christmas! Christmas, from Christ-mass, marks the arrival of Jesus the Christ, the God-Man, who came to seek and save the lost (Lk. 19:10). While the stories surrounding his arrival are commonplace, He is not common. There is no one like him, which is why the Apostle Paul described his own ministry as one of proclaiming the “unsearchable riches of Christ” (Eph. 3:8). This Christmas Eve, we consider just one of those riches—the glory of Jesus’ incarnation.
